Happy Spring! Who doesn’t love this time of year? It’s the energetic shift we’ve all been waiting for, isn’t it? When the sun stays with us a bit longer, the earth begins to thaw, and the flowers start to bloom. There’s no denying that there’s a collective exhale of pure refreshment. Everything just feels lighter and brighter. And with that, comes the urge to purge and start anew. Your finances are no exception! While you’re spring cleaning your cupboards, closets, and cars don’t forget to spruce up your credit too. How? Let’s take a look at the most effective ways to optimize this season for your financial health.
Access your credit report. You can’t fix what you don’t know. And this is true for your credit report. It’s like those dusty cobwebs lingering way up on top of your shelves and behind the nooks and crannies (hey, we all have them!). You need to shine a flashlight, get up close, and actively look to notice their existence, otherwise you’ll completely miss them. Same with your reports. If you aren’t actively checking in on them, how will you know where your credit stands, if there are errors to dispute, or what new goals you need to set? This is the time to jump online and see where things are at. If you’re wondering why this is so important, check out this podcast episode where I share not only why you should pull your reports regularly, but also how to obtain a free copy and how frequently you should be accessing them for optimal credit health. Pay off lingering debt. Debt is like carrying around extra layers throughout the winter…what a drag right? It feels so good when you can just wear a light jacket and not have to bundle up every time you leave the house. In the spirit of lightening the load, let’s talk about scaling back on lingering debt that has been weighing you down. We often avoid the things that are uncomfortable or overwhelming and build them up in our minds to be far worse than they usually end up being. However, what I know for sure, is if you don’t start now nothing will ever change. Tune into this inspiring conversation on how you can take small steps today to start taking control of your debt in big ways!
Reassess your money-making strategy. There are so many creative ways out there to reach your financial goals. This is why I’m a huge advocate for side hustles. The possibilities are limitless when you begin thinking outside the box of a traditional income stream. In fact, some of the wealthiest people in the world have multiple streams of income. Especially in today’s digital world, there are plenty of flexible opportunities right at your fingertips that can bring in additional money each month! You can listen to my thoughts and advice on side hustles here to see what would work best for you.
I can’t wait to hear how these tips help you tidy up your credit! It’s exciting when we can get out of the stagnation of doing things as we always have done by implementing new strategies, habits, and actions that move the needle forward. And spring is the perfect time for that!
